Description
GBKP Sitelusada is designed as a place of worship and a communal space that represents openness, togetherness, and community growth. This two-story building combines modern architectural approaches with warm local elements, creating an atmosphere that feels sacred while remaining inclusive and welcoming. Architecturally, the building has a strong and clear form with layered sloped roofs finished in earth-toned tiles, reinforcing its tropical character. The long horizontal balcony lines are combined with dark concrete columns, creating a solid yet elegant appearance. Wooden ceiling elements along the corridor soften the modern look and provide a warm atmosphere for visitors and church members. The facade is designed with wide openings and minimalist steel railings on the second floor, allowing natural light and air circulation to flow optimally throughout the building. This approach not only improves thermal comfort but also reflects the church’s philosophy of openness toward the surrounding community. The interior spaces are designed to be flexible, with wide open spans and minimal partitions, making them suitable for various activities such as worship services, community meetings, and social gatherings. Reflective marble-pattern flooring enhances the clean and bright atmosphere while maximizing the distribution of natural light inside the building. Foldable wooden partitions provide spatial adaptability, allowing spaces to be divided efficiently without reducing the overall visual quality. The upper-floor corridor functions as a shaded and comfortable transition space. Its elongated layout serves not only as the main circulation area but also as an informal interaction space that strengthens relationships among church members. In addition, simple landscape elements at the front of the building introduce refreshing greenery and create a softer transition between the public area and the worship space. Overall, GBKP Sitelusada represents a contextual contemporary church architecture that combines functionality, aesthetics, and community values in a harmonious composition. The building serves not only as a place for worship but also as a space that supports the spiritual and social growth of the surrounding community.
