Description

This renovation project transforms an existing house into a more open, warm, and functional living space through a modern tropical design approach. The design emphasizes a balance between natural materials, soft lighting, and optimized spatial circulation. The façade is redesigned with a solid–void composition featuring breeze blocks and a secondary skin of climbing plants, which function as light filters while strengthening the building’s visual character. Indirect lighting at night highlights the texture and depth of the façade, creating a warm and elegant atmosphere. Inside, the interior adopts an open-plan concept that visually connects the living room, dining area, and kitchen. Natural wood materials combined with a neutral color palette create a warm, timeless ambiance. Built-in furniture and shelving with hidden lighting serve as both functional and aesthetic elements. A layered lighting strategy—consisting of ambient, indirect, and accent lighting—enhances visual comfort while enriching the atmosphere during both daytime and nighttime. Overall, this renovation significantly improves the quality of the living space in terms of aesthetics, functionality, and residential comfort.
